Holland Park Surgery have a long-standing reputation in the community having been a practice in the Kensington and Chelsea borough since 1948.
When moving to the practice’s current location in Phillimore Walk which opened in May 2016, Dr Richard Hooker, a retired partner of the practice and current salaried GP, collaborated with Open Age to request artwork for the surgery to be created.
The artwork took inspiration from health and the human body as well as ‘The Snail’ by Henri Matisse (1953) which also inspired the colour scheme of the surgery’s interior design.
An event was organised to showcase the artwork which was attended by the Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Councillor Mrs. Elizabeth Rutherford, the nineteen artists who created the artwork, the press, as well as members of the practice including the surgery partners, Dr Bavani Dharmawardene and Dr Ali Al-Rufaie. This event was organised by our Assistant Reception Manager, Sandra Archibald.
Holland Park Surgery are an NHS practice with a diverse range of doctors with varying specialisms which include dermatology and gynaecology.
